Buy a Hillary Brick
When the house was moved, we decided to clean up and store bricks from Sir Edmund Hillary’s study because we identified they could be a great source of fundraising. Some of the bricks from the foundations were also cleaned and stored. Hillary House Leadership Centre Trust sells the bricks, each with a certificate of authenticity, to assist our fundraising.
Study bricks are sold for $350 each in a commemorative box and $300 unboxed (limited number). Foundation bricks are sold for $200 each. Some people have also purchased and re-auctioned the bricks for their nominated charity.
Hillary Helpers
Hillary Helpers are a dedicated group of volunteers who support the work of the Trust. In particular they actively manage and promote the Visiting Programme and major events such as open days, exhibitions and the administration involved.
We value the skills and expertise our Hillary Helpers offer. If you are based in Auckland and have 4-6 hours a month to contribute, we are currently looking for Helpers with skills in garden maintenance, basic accounting/book-keeping, office administration or digital marketing. Your donation today will help us to maintain Sir Ed’s legacy. It will be used to support our student leader and senior citizen visiting programme, offer new exhibitions and displays at the House and assist with maintenance of this important house of heritage.

Leave a gift in your will
Sir Ed had a lasting commitment to education and health, in particular to those who had limited opportunities, and you could contribute to this legacy. Your gift to Hillary House Leadership Centre through our Trust, a registered charity, will help make a difference to the lives of young people. We know that when they visit Hillary House young people are inspired and motivated by Sir Ed’s achievements.
There are a variety of ways in which you can leave a gift in your will (a bequest) and your solicitor or trustee will ensure this is done legally and correctly.
