Shauna Eldridge, Trustee

Shauna Eldridge (M Ed Hons) is Deputy Principal at Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate and brings 35 years’ experience as a dedicated and committed educator to this role. Her specialist subjects include physical education and health, computer science, geography, mathematics, statistics and calculus.  Over the years Shauna has been involved in the introduction, setting up and leading curricula for work readiness programmes. This has included License to Work with the Auckland City Council, financial capability programmes with the Commission for Financial Capability and the Retirement Commission. She is also committed to leadership development, particularly with the Student Council, Deans and HOD programmes.

Shauna recently completed a Master of Educational Leadership with research focused upon exploring culturally responsive environments enabling Pasifika secondary school students.  This contributes to positive educational achievement levels in secondary schools, facilitating successful transitions to tertiary education in New Zealand.   She has been included on the Dean’s List for Excellence in Postgraduate Study for 2018.

As a trustee since 2015, Shauna’s focus is on liaising between the Trust and schools in facilitating leadership programmes for students.  She is passionate about equipping young people with the tools to be leaders in their communities, with their families and in their social environments. She wants to encourage students to develop a thirst for lifelong learning, personal development and creating inter-generational change in Auckland, particularly South Auckland. Shauna believes that Hillary House Leadership Centre Trust is influential in promoting future success for young New Zealanders.
